HOW TO RESPECT and PROTECT ADDERS

Look but don’t touch, adders are venomous but they are not aggressive. They do not want to come across you.

The risk of being bitten is minimal if adders are treated with respect and observed from a distance.

Keep your dog on a lead when in a typical adder area (sea cliffs, moorland, heathland, open woodland). You are far more likely to get bitten by a dog than an adder.
