HOW TO RESPECT and PROTECT STAG BEETLES

Protect their habitat – do not tidy up the woods, leave rotting wood for them to nest in. They like warm tarmac so look out for them on pavements. You can move them if you think they are in danger but not too far. They are harmless and do not damage living wood or timber. Their larvae only feed on decaying wood. Don’t kill them.
